As you enter, you'll find a small but welcoming atmosphere, perfect for families and friends to gather over authentic Latino fare.

The notable charm of El Chapin lies in its passion for authentic flavors. Customers rave about the delicious offerings, from grilled chicken platters adorned with onions to hearty servings of rice and black beans. As Toni Ball enthusiastically shares, "10 out of 10" is the standard here, showcasing just how exceptional the meals are. The aroma of fresh ingredients fills the air, intensifying the experience as you anticipate every bite.

What truly sets El Chapin apart, however, is the warmth and friendliness of its staff. Patrons like Linda Pawson commend the team for their knowledgeable service and genuine hospitality. Whether your Spanish isn't perfect or you're a connoisseur of Latino cuisine, you'll feel right at home here. The staff goes above and beyond, even celebrating special moments with you; a birthday celebration concluded with a complimentary cheesecake and a delightful rendition of “Happy Birthday” by the team.

Despite its modest size—the restaurant seats about 25—the space is impeccably clean and thoughtfully organized. While it lacks dedicated parking, the culinary experience is undeniably worth the minor inconvenience of finding a spot on the street. Many customers, including Jacque Howard, recommend sharing platters, allowing you to experience a medley of tastes like succulent fried fish, sizzling fajitas, and mixed grill plates bursting with flavor.

In a world where fast and generic often reign, El Chapin Family Restaurant stands out. As MannyManny Berroa noted, the food is made to order, and while it may take a bit longer, the quality and flavor found here are unparalleled. Each dish is a testament to the kitchen’s dedication to excellence, echoing the essence of home-cooked meals made with care.

The El Chapin Restaurant is very small. Just a few tables. No parking lot so must find off street parking. The food is made to order. It may take a bit longer but it is worth the wait. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. We all ordered a different entree. It arrived hot and delicious. Most of us had to ask for a take home bag because the portions were so big. We were there to celebrate a birthday and the staff gave the birthday girl a free piece of cheesecake and sang “Happy Birthday “ with us. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

This place serves good basic Latino fare. It's very small and quiet. And the folk who run it do a nice job of making you feel glad you went there. It is right next to the Empire Discount Liquor store on the corner of South Broad and Liberty Streets. In fact the wheelchair accessible outside door is shared by both businesses.

The cuisine flavor is very distinctive. I liked the prompt service, the place it's immaculate condition and clean, the chicken with s off the chain!! --don't cut it! Or dunt chop it!.... Let it out from the grill as is with lime on the side. The space is limited so order your food ahead of time. Bring cash, for now... It'll be helpful. I'm about to taste la sopa de Gallinas...????... Wish me luck! Tremendo lugar para dos personas picar el hambre. El espacio no es para mucha multitud.

1 of 2 locations in Trenton. Attached to a packaged goods store noth of which are new. Smallish sitting area for ~25 people. Flat screen TV wonderful staff. Very reasonable prices, authentic Spanish food. Share 3 "platters" with 2 others, perfect amount of food. We took recommendations from our Server. Fried fish, Fajitas and a mixed plate of grilled pork, chicken, steak. All of the food was absolutely delicious! Will return and bring others.
